Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
The Cancer Fund for Children is for children and young people diagnosed with cancer or living with a parent with cancer. They offer support to families in their home, in the community, on the hospital ward and at Daisy Lodge in Newcastle. Their mission is to ensure that no child faces cancer alone.
Our St. Peter's Senior Ladies team are going to be taking part in the NICFC Annual Bog Run on 15th October 2023 in Castlewellan Forest Park. It is a 5k route through thick forest, delightful swampy bog and, maybe, there just might be a lake involved somewhere. We will climb over fallen trees, crawl through bushes, get muddy and have amazing craic while challenging ourselves all for a good cause.
Every donation you give, whether large or small, makes a huge difference to local children with cancer, and their families.
£10 could help pay for resources for a Cancer Support Specialist to use during an individual session, helping a child to express their fears and worries in a safe and positive environment.
£30 could help provide an hour of individual support to a child, within their own home, who is struggling to come to terms with their parent’s cancer diagnosis.
£50 could help pay for a young person to attend a residential at Narnia, spending time with other young people going through a similar situation, helping them to develop coping mechanisms.
We would really appreciate any donations, no matter how big or how small. We are all so looking forward to the Bog Run on 15th October and to be raising money for such an incredible charity!
