Story
I have never run a marathon before, indeed I have never even run a 5K, so this will be a massive challenge. Going to Everest base camp helped me realise that anything is possible with the right training so here we go :-).
Team Uprising is made up of survivors of childhood abuse by schoolteachers and the trip to Everest was a way of moving on and finding some positives from the past as well as raising as much money as possible to help the NSPCC continue their excellent work. Team Uprising reached Everest Base Camp in April 2024 with 4 of the team completing a successful summit attempt in May.
Now 6 members of Team Uprising welcome two more to the Team in order to run the London Marathon 2025. Children continue to need the help and support of the NSPCC and we'd like to ask for your support once again to help us fundraise more much needed funds.
The NSPCC is the leading children's charity fighting to end child abuse in the UK and Channel Islands. The NSPCC help children who have been abused to rebuild their lives, protect those at risk, and find the best ways of preventing abuse from ever happening.
Every child deserves the best possible chance to rebuild their life after abuse.
That’s why the NSPCC are here. That's what drives all their work. And that’s why – as long as there’s abuse – we will fight for every childhood.
Thank you!
