Story
It won't let me select Aberdeen Kiltwalk because it's already happening (that's what I'm currently about three or so miles or so off of the end of. I've been walking with friends and made new ones along the way. My feet ache. But it's for a great cause.)
I have walked 18 Miles for The Bouncing Ball Trust. Please, if you can. Donate!
Because I've seen the need for education and support in Kenya with my own eyes. The need is very real. And the problems aren't going away. From Project Steadfast to Project Harambe and now the The Bouncing Ball Trust is the next stage of the goal we're working towards.
Please give to a cause that is genuinely close to my heart. I made so many friendships and met so many lovely people in Kenya. They've had fires and earthquakes and floods in the last ten years and famine. And to get out of this dire circumstance the biggest hand up is education.
Things are dire. It's now or never.
Education is something that we take for granted in the UK. Unfortunately, in Kenya many children do not have the same opportunity to receive free and compulsory basic education. Article 53 of the Kenyan constitution gives children the right to free and compulsory basic education so they have a constitutional right but in reality, they simply do not have the opportunity.
We are working in partnership with the community of Bulati in Kajiado County, Kenya, on exciting projects to develop their primary school and to improve the lives of the community. One of these projects is completing the development of two classrooms and an office at the school. This project will also include a properly constructed toilet block and kitchen. The primary school was partially constructed by a South Korean NGO before being handed over to the community.
