Story
This Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, the NHSPS Executive Team will be taking in part in a Race to the Home for our charity partner, Young Lives vs Cancer. In 2021, our colleagues voted to partner with the charity, pledging to support their Homes from Home service by raising £150,000 over 3 years. Thanks to our amazing colleagues, organising fundraising events from car washes to tractor runs and taking part in challenges from marathons to sky dives, we have raised more than £110,000. It is now time for us to follow in our colleague’s footsteps and take part in our own fundraising challenge this September.
Our challenge is a relay race: one team from our Stockport office to the Young Lives vs Cancer Home from Home, Jack’s House, while our colleagues in the South relay from our London office to Paul’s House, the London Home from Home. We will each be travelling via different modes of transport: running, NHSPS van, cycling, walking and public transport. We will not know our checkpoints until it is our time to set off, so not only will we have to race but we’ll have to navigate too! We hope to see many of our colleagues and customers along our way as each stop will be an NHSPS property where we will pass the baton on.
Young Lives vs Cancer’s Homes from Home give families a free place to stay, close to principal treatment centres, while their child is having cancer treatment, helping families avoid the extra financial burdens of travel, accommodation and food. They also allow young cancer patients to be close to their loved ones, keeping the family together at a difficult time.
Please support our challenge and help us reach our NHSPS goal of raising £150,000 for Young Lives vs Cancer!
Thank you!
