Story
At NewRiver we have been supporting the Trussell Trust since 2019, donating over £450,00 and raising awareness of the Trussell Trust's vision for a UK without the need for food banks.
This summer our team will be taking to the water and competing in the Trussell Trust’s Dragon Boat Race. Two NewRiver teams, comprising 22 staff members, will battle it out with teams from other corporate partners, all with eyes on the coveted first place.
Last year the Trussell Trust distributed almost 3 million emergency food parcels to people in crisis – with more than 1 million of these going to children. Through NewRiver’s partnership, we provide funding, space, food donations and volunteering hours, but we know we can do more, and this year the Trussell Trust and its network of 1,300 local food banks will need all the help that they can get to support people in our communities.
Our assets sit in the heart of local communities, and people in these communities are using food banks. The need usually arises from a lack of support, and as increased pressure on income grows more people will be finding themselves in need.
We know that our fundraising target is ambitious, but with the support of our advisors, partners, suppliers, friends and family we hope we can raise £10,000 and help the Trussell Trust fulfil their goals to reduce poverty, raise awareness and work towards a future where food banks are no longer required in the UK.
We’re proud to support the Trussell Trust and hope you’ll support us by making a donation . Anything you can donate would be gratefully received. You can follow our progress on LinkedIn.
