Anyone that knows us, knows we are passionate about dentistry, but maybe even more passionate about riding our bikes! So what better than to combine them.

Paul can be commonly seen arriving at work on his bike, and since joining New Park House Dental practice, Hannah has commuted on her bike come rain or shine. However our next challenge is far greater than our 12 mile commutes.

On the 27th September, we along around 50 others, will be commencing our ride at the Northern border of Portugal in Chaves, and finish 5 days later by the sea in the beautiful Albufeira, having ridden 100 miles a day.

Despite our joint love for riding our bikes, 500miles in 5 days is a long time in the saddle, and will therefore be a huge challenge to complete. Not forgetting the mountainous climbs the first few days in Northern Portugal have on offer for us. Hopefully Paul's mountain bike rides in the Shropshire hills and Hannah's summer holiday in the French Alps will have prepared us to keep pedalling!

However, this exciting challenge is not just about us going cycling; its an opportunity for us to come together as a community and make a positive impact on the lives of those in need.

The funds raised during this event will go directly to Dentaid. By supporting us, you’ll be contributing to helping Dentaid purchase a new mobile dental unit so they can visit more communities across the UK.

Dentaid The Dental Charity provides dental care and oral health advice for people experiencing homelessness and other under-served communities. Their mobile dental units travel the UK providing outreach dental clinics for people who struggle to access treatment.

Overseas, Dentaid supports its dental partners by providing portable equipment, funding outreach projects and supporting oral health programmes in communities where access to dental care very limited. In Uganda Dentaid work with a team of public dental health officers who they support in the delivery of charitable outreach care in the poorest and most remote locations.
