Story
Hi
Since my cancer diagnosis in March 2023, I have received fantastic care from the Royal Marsden Hospital from diagnostics, to chemo, radiotherapy and immunotherapy. I consider myself incredibly lucky to live near this centre of excellence and to benefit from its research and expertise -this is particularly so having a rare cancer. My journey is not over, but with thanks to my consultant and the amazing team at the Royal Marsden, not to mention the love and support from my family, friends and colleagues, right now I feel well and up for the challenge of the London to Brighton Cycle Ride.
It is a family affair, and I will be joined by Adam, Josie & Elspeth. Inspired by Adam’s passion for cycling, we have had many a family bike ride in the past, but neither Josie, Elspeth nor I have cycled this sort of distance before and for me it is coming after a pretty gruelling year heath wise. So as a fund raiser, it is no slam dunk for us, but we are goal driven and determined to push ourselves and raise money for this worthy cause. Whilst not joining us on the ride, Bibi is also doing her bit, industriously making and selling Swifitie-esque friendship bracelets!
Please help us in raising money for this very special hospital and give me the motivation to get up Ditchling Beacon and make it to Brighton in time for an ice-cream!
