Story
The Newbridge centre is a vibrant day service in Stockport that provides support and inclusive activities for adults and children with learning disabilities, autism, and complex needs.
We provide activities that are centre based, and community based from our singing and signing group to our cycling group, there are many groups to access all aimed at improving the quality of life of all our young people.
In our day service we support 65 adults between Monday and Friday, and three evenings per week we have an autism youth club for children aged 4 to 18. At weekend we run a Saturday club for children with complex health needs.
At Newbridge we are inclusive and provide groups to everyone, and we aim to empower and promote their independence skills in an environment of positive person-centred support.
The impact on our young people is that they have a positive place to come and be themselves whilst having fun, learn new skills and socialise with their peers and staff and provides an environment where they can thrive. Most of the young people who attend have done so for several years and see Newbridge as a big part of their lives.
In August 13 of our staff team will be taking part in an inflatable 5k challenge in an effort to raise as much as possible to improve the quality of life, by giving our garden a huge make over to make it accessible and inviting for the people we support.
Any and all help we receive towards our goal would be received with enormous gratitude and the whole team would like to say thank you in advance.
