Heres a little bit about my self, Im Neil, a 54 year old grandad and I am doing a white collar boxing fight to help raise some funds towards a vibration plate for little Asher. Asher is a 2 year old little boy who is the son of my daughters friend sian. This will help so much with little Ashers rehabilitation.

Asher was born with a rare heart condition called Truncus Arteriosus. All the blood was flooding his lungs and not going to the rest of his body.

This was not diagnosed till Asher was 11 weeks old in A&E when we nearly lost him.. he was on the life support machine, ventilator in ICU for months so then there was a knock on affect on his whole body as his heart was trying to work harder than it should.

Asher had emergency stomach surgery during 2nd open heart surgery. He also had his first stroke whilst on ECMO.

He was struggling breathing, they found he had scar tissue on his throat making his trachea 3mm (should be 6mm) this was due to Covid and being on the ventilator for a long time.. he needed an emergency procedure so was flown to GOSH via helicopter.

Asher then had Sepsis through his broviac central line so had his 2nd stroke that was very severe affecting his whole left side.. and now has developed epilepsy.

Asher has had 2nd stomach surgery due to scar tissue.

Ashers recovering is going really well with private rehabilitation. Slowly reaching milestones at his own pace. The first year of his life was touch and go but he’s proving all the medics wrong.
