Story
On 10th of November, I aim to walk across hot coals to raise funds for Neuroendocrine Cancer UK.
Neuroendocrine cancer is a rare cancer that affects 7 people per 100,000 of the population. This cancer is often misdiagnosed for years before patients get the correct diagnosis, at this point it has often spread meaning patients will now live with this condition with no cure. The rate of Neuroendocrine cancer has grown from a level of 4 per 100,000 to its current level, yet the medical and general community still has very little understanding of this disease.
Neuroendocrine Cancer UK exists to address the unmet needs voiced by the Neuroendocrine Cancer community, and to support patients and their loved ones with the physical and psychological burden of Neuroendocrine cancers.
Having become aware of friends and family members affected by Neuroendocrine cancer I would like to do what I can to raise funds to support NCUK's work in both further research into the disease and supporting patients and their loved ones in living with this cancer.
