We support people to help rebuild lives after stroke.

Story

Those of you who know my Dad, Stan, will know what a top fellow he is.

He’s had a difficult 2024. In January he had a couple of mini strokes relating to blocked carotid arteries (main arteries in your neck). The treatment was to go under the knife and get them un-blocked; whilst in surgery, at the start of February, Dad unfortunately had a major stroke.

He had a week intensive care and then 3 months in hospital rehab, before making it home in May.

He’s had a bit of a journey to make, but we are starting to find a new norm.

The support and rehab Dad has had and still continues to get at home, has been first class. It’s great to see the progress he makes which is very much down to the dedication and kindness of his rehab specialists.

I don’t put requests out for sponsorship typically, but have signed up with my work (Waterstons), to do the 3 peaks challenge - that’s climb and descend Ben Nevis, Scafell and Snowden in a 24 hour period including transport time between mountains.

I felt I wanted to something for others who are going through or may go through a similar experience and have thus decided to raise money for The Stroke Association.

If you would like to sponsor me, that would be very much appreciated, you would be supporting a great charity who help support and rebuild lives after a stroke.
