Story
I’ve spend the last 4 day in Kabale, Uganda, at the One Love Project school with 46 amazing other volunteers building an extension onto the special needs facility built in Feb 2022 by a previous group of volunteers! The school started some 6-7 years ago with just 27 pupils and now provides education to 152 pupils, from 3 nursery age grades to primary school education P1-P6. Next year the Primary 6 class will progress onto Promary 7, their last year at primary school, BUT, there is currently no classroom for them to study in! The school houses, feeds and educates many orphaned children as well as day students from the local community. It’s my 30th Birthday and I couldn’t think of any better way to have spent the last week giving back to these amazing children!
I’ve kicked off the donations with £210 needed to purchase all of the school textbooks they’re current missing! I’m now asking for help from ALL OF YOU, every friend, family member or business contact, to raise another £4000 so that One Love Project can fund the build of the much needed new classroom to facilitate the education of next years primary 7 class! I’m aware that times are tough for everyone right now, but if you would buy me a drink on my birthday in a bar or club back home, then please donate just £7, the cost of a double vodka lemonade to this cause instead! Thank you ❤️
ONE LOVE PROJECT STORY IS BELOW!
The One Love Project (formerly The Abode Project) is a non-profit organisation at the forefront of school and community projects in Kabale, southern Uganda. Over the last five years, donations and volunteers have built the school, boarding facilities, and a dedicated Special Needs facility.
The classrooms offer much-needed education to over 100 children in an area of poverty where it would otherwise be unavailable. The boarding facilities are for several homeless and orphaned children, offering them much-needed support with two dedicated social workers. 100% of donations go directly to the projects and will continue to support the school, the children, their families, and the community over the coming months
