Story
Gill was diagnosed with MND on 25th March 2019. And passed away on the 6th August 2021.
Here are some simple facts regarding MND:
MND has no cure, it has no effective treatment when you are diagnosed with MND you will die. That is the reality of the disease. 6 people a day are diagnosed with MND and 6 people a day will die of MND. 5000 people are currently suffering with MND.
WHO is there to help people affected by MND?
The MND Association focus on improving access to care, research and campaigning for those people living with or affected by MND in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. By sponsoring me your money will help people affected by Motor Neurone Disease. Once you donate, JustGiving will send your money directly to the MND Association.
My challenge for 2024:
Having trekked Kilimanjaro in 2022 I took a year off whilst I thought what I could do next and came up with this bright idea. On the 8th/9th June 2024 I will be taking part in an Ultra Challenge walking 100km around the Lake District in under 24 hours. I have never walked 100km well why would you that’s why the motor car was invented. My sanity has been questioned by many, including by myself, but that is the physical challenge I have set myself. Arghhhhhh!!!!!
With your help, through kind donations, we can help the MNDA care for people affected by MND today. The ultimate aim is that one day together we will find a treatment and maybe even a cure for this truly devastating disease, the disease that took Gill away from us. Sadly we cannot bring Gill back, but we can help people who are suffering with MND now. Also, and you never know, your donation maybe be the donation that helps the scientists understand MND and therefore treat MND & eventually cure MND. Remember every penny counts, together we can #endmnd.
Thank you again for your kind donations you really are making a difference to people suffering with MND.
