Story
2023 is a big one for me… I turned 40 back in April!! 🙈
Rather than count the grey hairs (more in beard 🎅🏻than head btw 😂), I decided to make it an even bigger year with 4 epic challenges to raise money for Alder Hey. 🏥
That’s a challenge for each decade I’ve been on the planet! 🌎
And together with YOUR generous support 🙏🏻 my goal is to use these challenges to raise £4000 for such an amazing charity.
Quite simply, that’s £1000 for each challenge (please dig deep)!!
So what are these challenges?
Well I’ve been training hard, I want to do some things I’ve never done before. 🔥
Challenge 1: My first marathon 🏃🏻♂️
COMPLETE
I ran the Manchester Marathon 4 days after the big-four-Oh f**k!
And completed it in 4hours 03minutes.
It was a blast!!
Challenge 2: Liverpool Chester 100 🚴🏻 COMPLETE
On Sunday 2nd July, I cycled a 100 miles as part of the Liverpool to Chester to Liverpool Bike Ride.
Challenge 3: Tour Du Mon 🚴🏻 COMPLETE
On August 20th I completed a 107 mile lap of Anglesey in the wind it was brutal.
Challenge 4: INCOMING
Still deciding (answers in the comments!)
Why Alder Hey? 🏥
We’ve witnessed first hand the incredible work that Alder Hey do.
Our son Felix as been a patient there since he was born with some early health concerns.
Whilst this was both scary and stressful at first, it was humbling and incredibly positive to know that he was being cared for in one of the best Children’s hospitals on the planet.
Fortunately Felix, now 5, has grown (way to fast) without any of his early health concerns being an issue. But we recognise we are incredibly fortunate, and that it’s not always the case for every family.
So by doing our bit and raising some money for the Alder Hey charity felt like the least we could do.
By helping me raise money for The Alder Hey Charity, you would be helping them transform young lives; and providing funds to help make Alder Hey Children's Hospital a truly world-class, patient-friendly hospital for the 330,000 patients and families we care for every year.
Since 2013, over £65m has been raised for a range of life-saving medical equipment and facilities that are making a real difference to families every day - but they still need support.

Some special sponsors to thanks:
Julia Essay-Bennett (aka the boss)
She has to be sponsor number one.
For supporting my efforts in amongst everything else we are trying to achieve.
For putting up with me for disappearing for long runs on a Sunday morning; and my strange diets, training routines.
Steve Heaton at Kinetic Therapies
Steve is providing me with treatments to keep the injuries away.
If you are in the North West and suffering from injuries or pains, he’s the man for sorting them out.
Whilst his methodology isn’t for the faint hearted 😜 it’s 97% effective and he has pro athletes visit him from around the world for treatment.
Believe me whilst what he does looks extreme, you come away feeling amazing.
