Story
For more than 10 years now I have been chasing 5 am alarms, sunrises, and finish lines. What started as an OMG-I-am-30-crisis has now become a way of life. Today, I have completed more than 10 marathons, 3 Half Ironmans and 1 Ironman. (https://www.instagram.com/neha_gupta?igsh=MmVlMjlkMTBhMg==)
Adoption has always been close to my heart. Adoption completes homes! And yes, I have been fortunate enough to experience the joy of a few such complete homes and the anticipation of a few on the verge of becoming complete homes.
While Rashmi is a proud adoptive parent I have two more friends awaiting adoption and below quotes capture their anticipation, CoramIAC's support and the comfort that this will be alright.
First home:
CoramIAC have held our hands and guided us through the adoption journey with empathy and expertise. The path to adoptive parenting is unique for every person who emabrks on it and CoramIAC have been sensitive to our needs and have been invaluable in our support system.
Second home:
Adoption is a unique journey for each family. Preparing oneself for becoming parents to a vulnerable child is akin to front loading all your parental anxieties even before there is a name and face to this child who comes in your life, after having experienced loss and separation, Coram has provided a framework, guardrails, training materials, and infrastructure, and never without the warmth that is required to ‘feel’ your way through this journey. At this last stage of our journey we feel supported, excited and as prepared as we would ever be!
London marathon is special. It is one of the few marathons that the entire city celebrates, and this year I am running to support the exceptional work Coram does.
