Story
We go again in '24.......
For one last time (well to Amsterdam definitely), on 8th June I'm off again on a two day 145-mile bike ride from London to the Dutch capital with fellow Tottenham fans (and ex centre back Michael Dawson) in the COYS to Amsterdam 2024 group, all in aid of Prostate Cancer UK.
My story is history now but this is for those that are currently suffering from (and those that unfortunately will in the future) the UK's most common cancer in men.....brothers, fathers, husbands, partners, boyfriends, uncles, cousins, etc or 'just' friends. 1 in 8 men will be affected........and one succumbs to Prostate Cancer in the UK every 45 minutes. I was one of the lucky ones that didn't.
With a following wind (both for donations and the ride!), this year's event will hopefully see the total donations raised over the years by the Tottenham Supporters Cycling Group tip over the £250,000 mark for Prostate Cancer which is an incredible achievement. For those that have previously contributed that's all been hugely appreciated but if you can all dig deep one more time (back of the sofa/piggy banks, etc......you know the drill!) to get us over that quarter of a million mark you will be contributing to potentially elongating or even saving a life of someone you know......or have even yet to know! Prostate Cancer doesn't discriminate so you just never know......you or your loved ones may one day receive the ultimate benefit from the money raised here towards the continued research into prevention and hopefully eventually eradication of not only this form of the b@st@rd disease but all other types as well.
Once again thank you for contributing which certainly helps my motivation of getting to that finishing line at the Johan Cryuff Arena and the one or two Heinekens that will definitely follow thereafter.
Cheers
Neal
