What are we doing?
On Saturday, 30th November, the staff at Noah’s Ark Veterinary Centre will swap their scrubs for running gear and tackle a 5km parkrun to raise money for Joey’s Legacy Boxer Rescue. For some of us, running 5km will be a serious stretch—our usual workouts involve little more than lifting cake to mouth—but we’re determined to go the distance for this amazing cause.
What else are we doing?
On Sunday 15th November we're also hosting a Santa Paws event where Santa himself will be in our practice to hear all of the dogs wishes across Merseyside and beyond!
Why Joey’s Legacy?
For over 14 years, Joey’s Legacy Boxer Rescue has been dedicated to rescuing and rehoming dogs in need. They began with a focus on Boxers but have since expanded to include other brachycephalic breeds (dogs with short noses, like Bulldogs and Pugs) due to their unique medical needs. In 2021, they became an all-breed rescue, while maintaining their expertise in medical cases, hand-rearing puppies, and helping dogs with the most challenging circumstances.
Based in Merseyside, the charity relies on an incredible network of foster homes in the North West, supported by two small kennel facilities in Liverpool and Warrington. They don’t just rescue dogs—they treat every dog they take in as if it were their own, ensuring they are cared for, rehabilitated, and placed in the very best homes.
Joey’s Legacy operates without a physical rescue centre and relies on the generosity of volunteers and donors to continue their life-changing work. Every penny raised enables them to help more dogs, provide vital medical treatment, and give these animals a second chance at life.
How You Can Help
Your donation will directly support this incredible organisation. Every step we take in our 5km challenge is for the dogs who need it most. Whether it’s a little or a lot, your contribution will make a difference—and will help us wobble across the finish line!
