Story
A member of the West Cornwall National Grid team and our friend’s little boy was diagnosed with a very rare form of cancer when he was only 6 months old.
Super Sol is 1 in 8 billion! 1 in less than 30 with an extremely rare form of sarcoma cancer, called Primitive Myxoid Mesenchymal Tumour of infancy. He is one of the first in the world to have this type of cancer in the location of behind eye.
In the last 8 months, he has been poked and prodded and infused with some very potent chemicals, something a newborn should never have to endure. He has had MRIs every 3 weeks, 7 surgeries, 4 rounds of chemo, blood infusions, CT SCANs and heart scan, up and down the country. All of this has come with a huge impact as he has now sadly lost his eye, which means treatment and monitoring is needed for the rest of his life.
The next step and the last roll of the dice is Proton Beam Therapy. Solomon will have an average of 6-7 weeks in London. Being put under GA every day to receive this type of treatment.
We wanted to show our support for Becky, Doomer and the family by raising some money for a charity of their choice in Sol’s name. Therefore we are raising money for Young Lives vs Cancer.
The National Grid – West Cornwall depot will be cycling from John O’Groats to Lands End on static bikes at the beginning of June.
Sol is the happiest little boy, even after everything he has had to go through and the strength Becky and Doomer have is unbelievable. Please give anything you can to help us get to our target of £1,000.
