Almost 5 years ago I had a 6 month court DRR probation order. I suffered from severe drug induced mental illness, acute alcohol and drug addiction, and it was necessary for me to take a cocktail of prescribed medication to keep me sane and stable. I kept my faith in God and kept clean and after being given a chance at rehab. I now have a job taking care of pre fostered children and i'm an active, helpful member of my community. One thing that helped me keep clean and keep sane, was getting out doors and doing something, reading my work out and exhibiting my art. I started by doing an ironman for cancer research, then the BHMT bought me into my second ironman event in 2021, I have successfully fundraised for them for two consecutive years. This year I completed arguably one of the hardest ironman events in the world. Now next year, on the 2nd of June, somehow, I have gotten a place In the IRONMAN european championships!

I am so honoured that I can fundraise for a charity that helps people suffering with mental illness, I think most of us know how it feels sometimes. I hope that everyone that donates and has helped over the years is truly blessed.
