Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
10 years ago, in 2014, I lost my brother Luke. Luke was a serving Royal Marine and aspired to specialise to become a Mountain Leader. It was that desire that saw Luke set off on a challenging hill run in mid-November. Shortly after setting off, the weather changed quickly and Luke tragically died of hypothermia after being exposed to cold and inclement weather for a prolonged period.
His fellow Marines alongside the volunteers of the Tayside Mountain Rescue Team searched tirelessly through the night for Luke and battled through all of the elements to try and find him. Tragically, the result was not the one that any of us wanted.
Scottish Mountain Rescue are made up of dedicated volunteers and rely heavily on charitable contributions and government grants to keep running. In 2023 alone, they received 870 callouts and assisted 677 people.
With that said, I aim to honour the anniversary of Luke's passing by running the Manchester marathon in April 2025 in aid of the Scottish Mountain Rescue.
Any contributions would be hugely appreciated by our family.
Love,
Nathan
