Story

I’m completing the biggest challenge of my life and running the London Marathon in 2025 to raise money for a cause extremely close to my heart.

I’m running for two amazing women, my grandmothers; Betty Davies and Wendy Baldwin.

My Grandma Betty, was an incredible woman, so happy and bubbly, always willing to play with me and making my childhood a time full of happiness and summers at the beach. When she was diagnosed, she deteriorated extremely quickly and unfortunately, I had to experience the pain and heart break of her not knowing who I was towards the end of her life. We lost her at the end of last year and the loss of such an important person in my life is something I’m still coming to terms with.

My Nanny Wendy, was an equally incredible woman, and had a huge part to play in me becoming the woman I am today. She lived the most amazing life and always had a story to tell. Her happy, positive outlook on life remained right until her last day 5 years ago.

I want to run the marathon, challenge myself and raise money for Alzheimer’s Society. It’s such a horrible thing for those with it and those around them. I wouldn’t wish it on anyone and if there is something I can do to help then I’m going to do it and give it my all when I do. I know both Grandma and Nanny would be extremely proud of me and will be with me every step of the way.
