Story
Me and my friend Ellie are taking on the Ultra Jurassic challenge in May. We will be fundraising for the MNDA who support those affected by MND, and play a vital part in advancing much needed research to find a cure for this horrendous disease.
We are doing this 58k walk, in memory of Ellie’s mum Sue who died in 2021 of this horrible disease. Sue was taken from Ellie and her family way too soon, with only 6 months from diagnosis to her loosing her life.
Back in 2015, my Yaya (Nan) also lost her battle with MND. I didn’t know my Yaya that well, but I saw how quick yet painfully this disease escalates. MND stops the messages from your brain to your muscles. This leads the muscles to weaken, stiffen and waste, which can affect how you walk, talk, eat, drink and breathe.
Our aim is to raise money in Sue’s honour and in memory or her and my Yaya to help support all those suffering with a MND.
The MNDA focuses on improving care, research and campaigning for people living with or affected by MND. MND does not discriminate, 1 in 300 will be diagnosed in their lifetime.
Any sponsorship money raised will go to supporting finding a cure.
Thank you for any donations made.
