Story
In my role as a funeral celebrant I have encountered several families who have been torn apart by suicide and I have lost one of my best friends in the same manner. I have seen the suffering up close and know the pain and grief that families go through in dealing with their loss and the many unanswered questions that suicide presents to those left behind.
Funding and support for these bereaved families, like every other support these days, has been slashed and it can sometimes take months for someone to get help with how they are feeling and in a lot of cases the bereaved need someone to talk now. It was due to the lack of immediate support that Paul's Place was established.
It is a small charity and as such does not get the high profile that some charities on Merseyside get and I have seen first hand the help they have given to bereaved families and how those families have benefited from it.
There is a small group or us jumping out of a plane to raise funds for Paul's Place and I hope you can spare a few quid to throw into the pot. I know that times are very difficult with all of the constraints on our spending due to the cost of living crisis but every penny you donate will go some way to helping a person, or a family, deal with something that nobody would ever want to face alone.
