Story
Hello all!
As some of you know, I did a skydive for the Mental Health Foundation last year. This year, I wanted to arrange a night time 15km charity walk for CALM. I am hoping that not only will we collectively raise a substantial amount of life saving money for the charity, but that we will also raise awareness and start to normalise conversations around suicidal ideation.
Within the Cedars and Leighton Buzzard community, sadly, we have been affected by young people who have taken their lives in recent years. We strive to continue to support our students with their mental health.
I believe walking at night time not only adds to the challenge but people often feel quite isolated and need connection during these dark hours. I also think seeing in a new day adds some depth to the walk. I am hoping to use this opportunity to also 'walk and talk' to those who wish to.
I have the support and backing from the wonderful pastoral team and the 'CWFC' team just seems to be growing, which is amazing!
We appreciate any support you can give us - thank you for taking the time to read this.
Take care,
Naomi & Team CWFC

Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) is leading a movement against suicide. Every week 125 people in the UK take their own lives. And 75% of all UK suicides are male. CALM exists to change this by offering life saving services, provoking conversation and bringing people together to reject living miserably.
From advice on our site, through to free, confidential chats with our helpline staff, online or on the phone, we’re here for whoever needs us, every day. No matter what.
£8 is enough to fund one potentially life-saving call.
