Story

I have signed up to abseil off the Europa on the 10th of September to raise much needed funds for a really great cause.

My granda, Michael savage was diagnosed with Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) in and around 2018, he sadly passed away on January 13th 2022. IPF affects your lungs, and is a terminal disease with no known cure.

During my grandas illness, pulmonary fibrosis NI really helped him, and me, with advice and support during such a tough time and we learnt so much about his illness through them. As there isn't much awareness of IPF.

Pulmonary fibrosis have kindly fundraised and opened up puffin lodge respite accommodation, to give sufferers of pulmonary fibrosis the chance to spend time with family without having to worry about cost or finding suitable accommodation for medical needs.

I would really love to raise money for them, in memory of my wonderful granda.

Thanks so much for any donation, big or small.

Naomi

Puffin Lodge is a respite facility that has been purchased through fundraising and donations from many people from all around Northern Ireland. It is hoped that many sufferers and their families will enjoy a break on the beautiful Antrim Coast. The Directors of our charity are please that this facility is in place and only ask users to pay the cleaning fee after their use; there will be no charge other than that. We are asking you to help us with the ongoing maintenance, replacement and fees to keep this facility running; this is approximately £5,000 each year. Everyone in Northern Ireland suffering from this terrible disease deserves to get some respite and we are the only one providing this service. It is with your donations that we will ensure that at least 30 families will get a break each year.
