Hope you are having a fabulous day, I could really use some of your help! In September 2024 I will be heading to The Gambia to deliver essential emergency supplies and vehicles. 

This is a remarkable expedition to give aid to those who desperately need it but don’t have access. Along with other emergency service current and retired workers, I will be taking part in a convoy of fire engines, ambulances and other support vehicles, starting in the UK then driving through Europe, across Western Africa and finishing in The Gambia. We are all coming together to try and give help to those who are urgently require it. 

-SO many injuries and illnesses go untreated, leading to catastrophic results, simply because they don’t have the resources we take for granted on a daily basis. What we see as a basic injury can lead to life changing consequences, such as amputations, which can have an impact on the whole community. 

-The infant mortality rate in The Gambia is 42 deaths per 1000 live births

-Maternal mortality rate is 375/100,000 live births, and continues to a major challenge for their health service. 

-A massive cause behind these death rates is the lack of service patients are unable to receive; slow responses, inaccessible and disorganised health care. Patients cannot get treatment or to a hospital in time. 

The Emergency Services Aid Charity is to help people of The Gambia to set up a well equipped and functional emergency service response to help the local communities get faster treatment and prevent any serious medical complications. 

This is an incredible cause and I’m very excited to be a part of this project, but I desperately need your help! Any money raised will go towards the equipment, transport and paying for the fleet to get the necessary items there. All personal expenses (food, flights, accommodation etc) will be funded by myself.
