Story
Can you help Ducati?
Ducati came into our care after being found as a stray on an industrial estate during the North West 200 in May last month. When Ducati arrived, we initially identified him as a male, but reports of males attempting to mate with him while he was straying raised our suspicions. We were amazed to discover during neutering that Ducati is actually an intersex cat with both male and female reproductive organs. Ducati in particular had a penis, one testicle, one ovary and a uterus. Genetic mutations, chromosomal abnormalities, or hormonal imbalances in the womb are likely to have caused this extremely rare condition.
Due to previously suffering from cat flu, Ducati had to have a further operation to remove an eye as it had become permanently damaged and painful after suffering from cat flu. Ducati has healed well from both surgeries and is now ready to find a new home having been vaccinated, microchipped and treated for fleas and worms. Ducati is currently in the care of one of our loving fosterers until they find their forever home. However, with Ducati’s treatments comes costs. So far, Ducati’s treatments have cost over £500 and that is where we are asking for your help.
Could you help us with the costs of Ducati’s treatment and care? We do not receive any government funding and are totally reliant on donations to help unwanted cats and kittens. We appreciate times are tight, the minimum donation set by JustGiving is £2, but anything you can donate will be hugely appreciated. Whether it’s £2, £5 or £10, every penny and pound helps. Please donate today if you can. If we are fortunate enough to raise more funds than required to cover all of Ducati’s care, the extra money will be used to help other cats in our care. Thank you.
