Story
1 in 5 of us will have a lung condition during our lifetime. There's a new diagnosis every minute.
I have lived with Asthma since I was Two months old. It’s easy over the years to become a little complacent about the disease, without paying as much attention to yourself or others around you with the condition as we should.
The harsh and scary reminder of not being able to breathe comes completely out of the blue and when you least expect it. It’s indescribable to people who have, and I hope will never experience it.
My wife Jo, also works in Intensive Care and Respiratory wards as a Physiotherapist. She witnesses first hand the terrible strain Lung conditions put on the patients as well as their families every day. Not to mention the immediate and long term effects of working in a Hospital during Covid.
I’d like to raise as much money as possible to help research and offer support into this unrelenting disease that affects so many, and to also prove that even with a Lung Condition you can in fact run a marathon!
So… I'm running The London Marathon 2024 for Asthma + Lung UK.
They’re the only UK charity that fights for everyones right to breathe. Every pound I'm able to raise will take us a step closer to a world where everyone has healthy lungs.
I'd be very grateful for any donations you could make to a charity so close to my heart!
