Story
It’s with great sadness that we share the devastating news regarding 14-year-old Nathaniel Shani, who was stabbed and died earlier this month in Harpurhey.
Nathaniel was a member of Manchester Youth Zone and the incident happened very close to the charity’s premises and was witnessed by members of the youth zone as they were making their way to the centre.
MYZ continue to work hard in deploying their comprehensive crisis response programme to support the many young people that rely on their services.
As can be imagined, this tragedy has impacted not just the individuals who witnessed the scene on Friday, but also impacts the c.200 children from Nathaniel’s school who also attend the Youth Zone, the families of all of the children impacted and the wider community that the youth zone serves.
MYZ’s ability to deploy their emergency response is made possible thanks to the continued support of charity partners like Deloitte that dedicate invaluable time and financial support.
Understandably, MYZ need additional financial support to facilitate their exceptional efforts at this time of crisis.
Our collective fundraising efforts will help MYZ have a positive impact in supporting the young people of Harpurhey in their time of need
Thank you for your generous support!
