Story
Alzheimer's has affected my family massively. It makes my heart heavy to see loved ones greatly impacted by this disease.
I signed up for another 50K walking challenge which is coming up soon. After having walked two years running previously, and raising money each time, I felt like it might be a bit much to ask AGAIN for people to donate. HOWEVER, I then noticed it was World Alzheimer's Day two days before my 50K walk.
World Alzheimer's Day is a global opportunity to raise awareness around, educate, encourage support of and demystify dementia. I figured it's up to people if they want to donate or not, and seems silly not to try and help in raising that awareness and hopefully raising some more funds (over £8,000 combined so far with my family members).
So please consider donating and supporting me as I walk the Chiltern 50 Challenge on September 23rd through the countryside, with historic trails, rolling hills, nature reserves, and fantastic views.
The Alzheimer's Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever.
Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.
