🤩 Last Year, with your incredible donations, we raised a whopping £1,552.50 to support those living with MS.
Hello again, adventure enthusiasts and compassionate champions! As many of you may remember, last October, I walked 250km in the month to raise money and awareness for the MS Society. While I took part in the challenge, I was given the opportunity to join them for the BIG Leap Skydive.
Sadly, I was too heavy to take part at the time. Then, in April, it got pushed back further due to high winds. Well, I took the plunge this weekend, and it was fantastic.
Thank you to everyone who supported me last year, including my incredible team at @uptime. A special thank you to my Partner Faye, my Mum Sheryl and Stepdad Mark, who came and supported my anxious self at the airfield on Saturday.
With the jump complete and another physical challenge coming up, I wanted to share the next chapter of the journey.
Fasten your helmets and oil those chains because I'm trading in my walking boots and parachute for some pedal power on my next quest!
This time, I'm hitting the saddle for a 52-mile mountain bike ride around the harbours of Hampshire, all supporting the incredible individuals battling MS, including my partner Faye.
This will not be an easy challenge:
It has been about six years since I have ridden my bike regularly.
The Round the Harbours Tour is on the 6th of July, so there are just over five weeks to train.
As much as I lost 2st to do the Skydive, I'm still on the large size, weighing in at 18st.
So here's the plan: On my trusty bike, I'll be navigating the beautiful coastal paths, winding lanes, and picturesque harbours as often as possible.
With your help, we can make a significant impact and continue to support groundbreaking MS research. This time, I've learnt the importance of aiming high (remember how we smashed the last target in a matter of days?). So this time around, we're aiming for £2,000 in fundraising. Suppose you can support in any way, shape or form, whether a like, a share, or even a donation. In that case, every contribution will be greatly appreciated.
Here's how your generous contributions will fuel this mission:
£25 - can provide an hour of counselling for someone newly diagnosed with MS, helping them navigate their new reality.
£75 - can fund a support group meeting, creating a community for those living with MS and their families.
£150 can cover the cost of a physiotherapy session to help someone with MS maintain mobility and independence.
£300 can support a day's worth of vital research to find new treatments and, ultimately, a cure for MS. Friends, your support will be met with open arms and great appreciation. So, whether you can spare a pound, a like, or a share, every bit helps. Join me in making this ride one for the books.
Let's pedal with purpose and make strides (or now wheel spins) towards a world without MS! Let's make this ride unforgettable!
Ps I don't think the training at the Skydive told me how to get a good photo, but we work with what we have haha 🤦🏻♂️
