Story
Eliza, Charlotte, Marjolaine and I (Juliette) are training in the hopes of completing 2 iron man’s on the 9th December. We will each be doing a half iron man which consists of a 2km swim followed by a 90km bicycle ride and then finishing with a 21km run.
We are supporting the charity MS Society https://www.mssociety.org.uk/
Which uses the funds to research into new treatments and ways to help live better with MS, and to run over 1400 services helping thousands of people with MS UK-wide.
Last week I took part in work experience at Orpington Hospital in the neuro rehabilitation unit and got to meet many patients who were affected by MS. The diagnosing age is becoming increasingly younger as now many 18-20 year old’s are developing the disability. Some people will be affected worse than others and slowly deteriorate; becoming less and less mobile over time. At the hospital, one of the nurses told me about her youngest patient who had been incredibly athletic until he was diagnosed with MS in his late teens and shortly after lost the ability to walk then eat and drink on his own. Marjolaine and I’s aunt was diagnosed with MS recently as she abruptly lost vision in one eye. She is now relatively stable as she is staying active and healthy to try prolong the time she has before her MS progresses to a stage where she no longer has the gift of being able to do sport.
We would really appreciate your donations to help battle this disability. Any contribution, even small can make a difference.
Thank you for your support
