This year marks 10 years since I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis.

Thanks to early diagnosis and effective treatment, I’m still walking, talking, and living my life on my terms. But, I have been to enough Appeal events, hospitals and clinics in the last 10 years to witness just how devastating this disease can be for people with MS and their families. It robs people of their independence, their careers, their confidence and their future plans.

The StopMS Appeal is about to mark it's own 10-year milestone. The Appeal's mission was to raise £100 million over 10 years to fund groundbreaking research with the goal of stopping MS in its tracks. Now, 10 years on, the Appeal has raised over £96 million—tantalisingly close to its target.

I’ve seen firsthand how much of an impact the StopMS Appeal has made. The research, the support, the hope and the number of new treatments on offer —it’s all vital in helping people like me continue to live life as fully as possible.
