Story
This year the chosen charity for Year 10’s fundraising efforts is ‘Lives Not Knifes’. This charity Lives Not Knives is an innovative & youth-led charity that works to prevent knife crime, serious youth violence and school exclusions by engaging, educating and empowering disadvantaged young people and supporting them to enjoy their lives and improve their future prospects.
As part of our fundraising efforts, Year 10 will be completing the ‘Everest Challenge’. Each form group will climb 17,475 stairs between them which is the equivalent of scaling Mount Everest. This will amount to each pupil climbing up and down the ‘Fisher Block’ 10 times!
This event will take place from 3.30pm on Thursday 13th December, and is expected to finish at approximately 4.45pm.
To make this a fun event for the Year 10s, we would like to invite families along to watch and share in some refreshments once the students have finished the walk.
We would like to sell cakes and pre-packaged drinks (juice boxes, soft drinks, bottles of water) and all donations will go to ‘Lives not Knifes’. Any donations for their refreshments would be gratefully received. You can send these in with your son on the morning of the event to leave in my office.
Additionally, if you are available to help bake/sell some of the snacks mentioned above, please email me to let me know, remembering we are a nut free school.
