"We are at the heart of the initiative that is working with the World Health Organisation and leading experts on the disease to tackle meningitis globally. Our intrepid volunteers are taking on this incredible challenge and raising money to help us defeat meningitis and septicaemia by 2030.
Hi everyone!
My name is Darragh Reen and I am a fourth year student in the University of Limerick. I will be climbing Kilimanjaro in August 2024 along with a group of students from the UL, TUD and TCU in aid of the Meningitis Research Foundation.
MRF is one of Ireland and the UK's leading charities, it brings people and expertise together to tackle Meningitis and septicaemia. They do a lot of work with students who are taking on challenges like this to raise money and awareness of Meningitis.
The money we fundraise will help to fund research into the detection, treatment and prevention of meningitis and aid in the support services which they offer to those affected.
I am looking forward to helping out this great cause as well as the challenge of summitting one of the worlds highest peaks.
Thank you in advance to anyone and everyone who contributes to this enormous challenge - I will be extremely grateful for your contribution, however big or small...
Go raibh maith agat
