Story
On June 22nd I’ll be taking to the stage once more to perform stand-up comedy in aid of Wirral Mencap. They help adults with learning difficulties within the Wirral.
The last time I did something like this was in 2019, when I wrote and performed a 15-minute routine (and won the audience vote) as part of the Liverpool Comedy Festival. My routine back then covered such cutting-edge comedy topics as speed awareness courses, annoying people on planes, sarcastic Apple watches and massaging flammable liquids into my gentleman area. You know, the usual fare.
This time I’ll be going much darker, much bigger and much louder. I’ll need to as well, because in June I’ll be competing against comedy legends who have already performed on this stage – including my nemesis Daryl Vickers, who thinks he’s hilarious. Daryl won in 2018 (when it was a much weaker field of comedians) and believes he’s funnier than me, so I’ll need to completely destroy him in our comedic face off.
I’ll also raise a few quid for Wirral Mencap, I suppose. Whatever.
If you’d like sponsor me, please give generously. It’s for a great cause. My ego... and for Wirral Mencap, I guess. You can also book tickets to see Daryl, myself and some other comedy legends in person here.
Finally, if you’d like to see what you’re in for, you can watch my Liverpool Comedy Festival-winning performance from 2019 here. Be warned, it's totally NSFW.
