Hello, we are Tori-Mai and Bradley Blakemore and we are Scotty's Little Soldiers members.

Our hero is Sarah Louise Bishop Blakemore and we want to giving back to Scotty's Little Soldiers by taking part in Scotty's March. Our aim is to spread awareness and fundraise to help other members. Scotty's Little Soldiers continues to grow and do amazing things to help bring back smiles to bereaved Scotty's members step by step.

Our story.

On 18th October 2020 Tori-Mai and Bradley Blakemore were at home when they became aware that their mother was undergoing a life-threatening experience, together they demonstrated phenomenal bravery and calmness on the situation that they faced. They raised the alarm to the emergancy services whilst administering first aid and CPR for over 20 minutes until the ambulance arrived. Further treatment was administered and their mother was taken to hospital. The actions of the children were amazing given their ages, Tori-Mai 9 and Bradley 7, and the situation they faced. Their actions allowed CPR to commence at the earliest opportunity. Sadly their mother passed away in hospital. The actions of the children are highly commendable and are therefore recognised with both a Royal Humane Society Award and a Police Public Bravery Award, both of which are national awards.

Scotty's Little Soldiers are an amazing charity who help ensure long term support for bereaved military children. When a parent dies, the impact on their child is significant. When that parent served in the British Forces, the impact is even greater with children often feeling they’ve lost their connection to the military community, Scotty’s Little Soldiers prevents that. Together, we can ensure the very best bereavement support remains available.

By 2030, we have pledged to be supporting 1000+children and young people annually. We know there are hundreds more bereaved military children that could be benefiting from our support. We want every bereaved British Forces child to have access to the very best emotional support, outstanding development opportunities and the chance to smile again.

About the charity
