Story
John Robson, Senior Architectural Technician at Morrison Design, is riding, walking and running 2024 miles during 2024 in aid of our charity of the year, Alzheimer’s Society.
This epic challenge is the equivalent of travelling from our Darley Abbey Mills studio, through France, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Serbia, Bulgaria and finally ending in Istanbul! Whilst John won’t be crossing any borders, he will be cycling on average over 39 miles every single week of 2024.
It’s going to be a huge challenge requiring a huge amount of determination and commitment so please get behind him as much as you can. Whether it’s a few words of encouragement or a donation, any bit of support offered will be gratefully received.
“I’m really pleased that the charity we’re supporting this year is Alzheimer’s Society. Both of my parents suffered with dementia and it’s an illness that not only took over their lives but the rest of the family too in terms of supporting them. What starts out as confusion with an everyday task soon becomes a need for constant care with everything. Thankfully there are charities out there such as this one who can help and support you through this time. But they need donations to provide this service – last year I did the Trek26 for Alzheimer’s along with my sister and our family friend Bob who came over from America. This year I would like to go one better, so I plan to cycle and run 2024 miles before the end of the year. Which shouldn’t be too difficult when the weather’s nice – but spare a thought for me when the temp. is -2° like today and I’m cycling to work in the dark. Please sponsor me as much as you can – I’ll add updates each month so that you can see my progress.
