Story
In 2022, my Dad was diagnosed with motor neurone disease (MND).
MND is a progressive disease that attacks the motor neurones in the brain and spinal cord. It slowly takes away the body’s ability to move, affecting everything including walking, talking, eating, drinking and breathing.
Watching my Dad lose his independence as the disease progresses is heartbreaking, but through it all, he’s shown incredible strength and resilience.
Although there’s currently no cure for MND, there are ways to manage the symptoms and improve quality of life. That’s why I’ve decided to run the Brighton Marathon. To raise funds for those affected by MND and help families like mine access the vital equipment and care needed to support loved ones through this journey.
The first £500 of donations received will go to the National Office of the MND Association. Monies raised above £500 will be split 50/50 between National Office and the Hertfordshire Branch where it will be used to support those living with this terrible disease in the county.
Every donation, no matter the size, can make a huge difference. Your support means the world to me and could give my Dad, as well as others facing this disease, a chance to live a longer, more comfortable life.
Thank you for any help you can give.
