Camping and Outdoor Leadership Annual Fund Drive 2025

Let's Send a Kid to Camp!
The outdoors has always been a big part of my life—fresh air, starry skies, and the occasional mosquito ambush. But more than that, I believe every kid deserves the chance to explore, grow, and build confidence outside, no matter their background.
That’s why I volunteer with the YMCA of Greater Seattle’s Camp and Outdoor Leadership Advisory Board. Last year, we helped 10,900 kids get outside through summer camps, backpacking trips, and outdoor education programs. Whether it was their first time roasting a marshmallow (and setting it on fire) or summiting a peak they never thought they could, these experiences stick with them. They build resilience, friendships, and a lifelong love for nature.
We know that time outdoors helps kids do better in school, develop stronger social skills, and—most importantly—learn that bug spray is non-negotiable.
I care deeply about this work because I’ve seen how life-changing it can be. Every child should have access to the magic of camp, regardless of their circumstances. If this resonates with you, let’s make it happen. Let’s send a kid to camp and give every child a chance to sit around the campfire.
