We fund care, campaigning and research to achieve a world free from MND

Story

Maureen Wilkins is raising money for her beloved sister Joanne Horan who’s sadly passed due to motor neurone disease in October 2023.

Despite being a Nanna to six children, Maureen is taking on the incredible challenge of competing an Iron Man.

The event is a true test of grit and determination and consists of a 2.4-mile swim, a 112-mile bike ride, and a 26.2-mile run; all to be completed in a time limit of 17 hours.

This gruelling event is being completed to raise as much money as possible for the MNDA in Joanne’s memory.

MND is one of the cruellest diagnoses anyone can receive. Maureen and her family are proud to have the opportunity to raise significant funds to help the MNDA in their research so one day a cure will be found for this horrific disease.

Any support towards this incredible organisation would be greatly appreciated, Maureen is doing this in memory of her sister, an incredibly kind woman who will be missed greatly.
