Story

On the 28th September 2024, we will be walking the Preston Guild Wheel in memory of our Wife / Mum / Grandma, Dorothy Haworth. Dorothy died in February this year, just 5 months after receiving her Motor Neurone Disease (MND) diagnosis. MND is such a cruel disease, which left Dorothy unable to move, talk, or swallow. As a family we have seen first-hand how devastating this disease is and want to raise awareness, and funds, to help other families.

This walk is organised by the fantastic MND Team at Lancashire Teaching Hospital Preston, who supported Dorothy after her MND diagnosis. Dorothy loved walking so we couldn't think of a better way to raise much needed funds.

MND affects up to 5,000 adults in the UK at any one time and it is always fatal. Funds raised will benefit people living with MND locally and fund both local and national research.

The MND Association focuses on improving access to care, research and campaigning for those people living with or affected by MND in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Once you donate, JustGiving will send your money directly to the MND Association.

Thank you from us all (Rick, Gill & Andy, Jake, Tyler & Scott, Alex and Dan).
