Story

Motor Neurone Disease (MND) causes muscle weakness that gets worse over a few months or years. It's usually life-shortening and there's currently no cure.

MND Scotland is a charity providing care and support to people affected by Motor Neurone Disease (MND), as well as funding research to take us a step closer to a cure.

I'm a carer for a family member who is suffering from motor neurone disease and want to give something back to help support others.

I will be presenting a day-long radio programme on hospital radio and will include interviews with a wide range of medical professionals from this specialised field.

The broadcast is on Wednesday 19th November 2025 and can be heard on BridgeFM hospital radio - you can listen live online at www.bridgefm.org.uk

This is very personal to me: I have been volunteering with hospital radio for almost 50 years, even before I met my wife. She knows how important my volunteering is to me, and now I am using hospital radio to raise awareness for a disease that the person I love has been diagnosed with.

I hope that the money raised for a cause that impacts us both hugely can have a positive impact for others with MND and their families too.

Sponsoring me will help MND Scotland to provide practical, financial, and emotional support to people affected by MND.

Thank you!
