Story
My name is Mitch and I am running the Leeds 10K as part of the Run with the Rhinos team, this will be my third year taking part.I am taking part to help raise funds for the Leeds Rhinos Foundation who have made a huge impact on my life over the last 4 years and I have seen how much work they do in the community.
As well as doing fantastic work with grassroots clubs and schools they also do amazing work supporting people like myself who have disabilities. They enable people with disabilities to lead more fulfilling lives and feel accepted and included, giving them the chance to play sports which without their support they do not get the chance to do.
I have been part of the Leeds Rhinos Learning Disability Team since it started in 2019 and it has changed my life. I love being part of a team and playing an adapted form of Rugby League and have enjoyed making lots of new friends. I have also been given the opportunity to participate with the Leeds Rhinos Physical Disability Team, assisting them on match days helping bring on the kicking tee and water bottles and I love this volunteering role, everyone makes me feel so welcome.
The Foundation have given me so many opportunities to live my dreams and I am so very grateful and would like to raise funds so they can continue with their amazing work and I would be very grateful to anyone who feels they can spare anything towards my fund raising target.
This is my first year participating unsupported and the confidence I have gained from the opportunities provided by the Foundation has enabled me to feel confident enough to attempt this.
Thank you for reading my story
