Story
Many of you will know, that we sadly lost my father to blood cancer back in 2022. This cruel disease took away our Dad, Gramps, Husband, Dadder Cadd, ‘Gilbert’ and my best mate, and we all miss ‘The Captain’ terribly.
In 2024 I intended to run the Manchester marathon in his memory, with the aim of raising funds for Blood Cancer UK. However, thinking i was still 22 and not 52, I got too confident and ‘broke’ in late January.
Through good luck, and some help from ‘above’ no doubt, I entered, and gained a ballot place for London Marathon 2025, and here we are!
Better prepared, and raring to go, it’s time to ask for your help in raising money for this important, and often overlooked charity. Anything you can spare will be greatly received and importantly, put to great use.
A little overview of the charity below, and thank you for any help you can give!!! 🌈🌈🌈
Blood Cancer UK are a community dedicated to beating blood cancer. We do this by funding research and supporting those affected. Since 1960, we've invested over £500 million in blood cancer research, transforming treatments and saving lives. Right now, our community is funding 360 researchers and staff across the UK who are searching for the next breakthrough. The day we will beat blood cancer is now in sight and the researchers are determined to finish the job.
