Story
To celebrate the life of the gorgeous, amazing and incredible Lesley McFarlane, 10 years on from her untimely passing, we have decided to hold a fundraising event in her memory. A group of her closest family and friends will be cycling approximately 45 miles from her family home in Dullatur, to her home town of Kirkcaldy. Each mile represents a year of her life - a perfect tribute to her!
For those of you that are family or were friends of Lesley, you know how she was full of life, cheek, laughter and love. She was diagnosed in February 2014 with a rather nasty brain tumour, and fought as hard as she could to beat it. In January 2015, our lives were turned upside down when this terrible illness became too much for her, and she passed away peacefully in her beloved home town of Kirkcaldy.
Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer… yet just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease.
We are fundraising for Brain Tumour Research as they are the only national charity dedicated to funding long-term, sustainable research in the UK. Please join us in raising money and spreading awareness for this cause!
This one is for you, Lesley! Mum, Daughter, Wife, Friend and overall top chick. We hope you know how much you are missed by not only your family and friends, but so so many people you touched in life. Love you long time!
If you are keen to join us on this cycle or to celebrate after, please get in touch with Mirren, Caitlin or Kevin.
