Miriam swims the Channel & Lake Geneva!

Channel swim & Lake Geneva swim 2024
On 14th July 2024 I will be attempting to swim across the English Channel from England to France (again!), and on 9th September 2024 I will be attempting to swim Lake Geneva end to end (twice the length of the channel)! 🏊🏻♀️
If you know me you know I live for the water - I have swum all my life, scuba dived for half of it, and fill my work days as a marine scientist 😊 I managed to successfully swim the Channel last year and loved it, although it was the hardest thing I’ve ever done!! 🌊
I am back in the water this summer fundraising for ActionAid's Gaza Crisis appeal and for the emergency response work in Gaza following the alarming escalation of violence in the region.
ActionAid is working in Gaza doing their utmost to provide food and relief items to families that they can reach, but access to supplies is limited and transportation to the shelters is challenging and dangerous for those who are working on the ground.
ActionAid are prepared to respond, ensuring the well-being of thousands who are without access to food, water, or shelter, while also prioritising the safety and protection of women and girls.
Any donations will be hugely appreciated and will help to spur me on when it gets tough at sea and in the lake! These two swims are famous for being up there as the most challenging and dangerous in the world so keep your fingers crossed for us! My work will also match donations so even more of an incentive 👍🏻
I am part of two epic relay teams (for lake Geneva we are reuniting our successful Channel team from last year 🙌🏼) and we are all training hard!
No wetsuits allowed - only a swim cossie, cap and goggles (maybe some Vaseline..) so I have my fingers crossed for a heatwave and not too many jellyfish stings this year! 🪼
Thank you so much
