Story
Come and enjoy some beautiful classical music at my piano recital, followed by tea & cakes! It's on Sunday 16th March 2025 at 1:10pm at the Cambridge Buddhist Centre and features music by Mozart, Chopin and Debussy.
Why I'm doing this
I'm fundraising for Tiratanaloka Unlimited, which is creating a much needed bigger centre for women's ordination training in the Triratna Buddhist community.
I played the piano as a child and at university, and gave several concerts, but then life got in the way... it's been a joy to pick it up again two years ago, and I'm looking forward (with some apprehension) to sharing some beautiful pieces with you all. Oh, and if anyone wonders how much effort this takes, I estimate that 500-700 hours of practice will have gone into preparing for the recital.
Tiratanaloka has helped 100s of women deepen their Buddhist practice to the point of ordination through friendship, Dharma study and Buddhist practice. But they've outgrown their building. They need help to raise money for a bigger, better Tiratanaloka so that many more can benefit from the inspiration that the Tiratanaloka team provides.
