Story
Long time Amicii supporter, Mim, is taking on an amazing challenge - a 77km Trek to Petra in Jordan!
The 9 day trip involves 5 days of hard trekking through stunning valleys, passing Neolithic and Roman sites and rugged mountain countryside before reaching her goal - the ancient red city of Petra, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.
As if trekking up to 18km per day wasn’t enough of a challenge, for five nights of the trip Mim will be camping!

After spending three years living in Romania, the country and its people have a special place in my heart. I am passionate about anti-cruelty and promoting positive attitudes towards animal welfare at all levels of society. Rescuing injured, abandoned, stray dogs and puppies from the streets was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life, and I will always fight for those without a voice. I learnt so much about my own strengths and skills, as well as what it means to be part of what is a truly fantastic multi-cultural team made up of volunteers from both the UK and Romania. I enjoy a challenge, and I know this will certainly be that! Amicii relies solely on the kind donations of our incredible supporters, and I want to raise as much money as possible to help Amicii dogs in both the UK and Romania. Thank you for all your support and kind words of encouragement, if anyone has any tried and tested methods for keeping the sand out of my boots, I’d be very grateful to hear about them!! (Mim 2023)
