Story

The Million Yard Drive

On behalf of Southport golf Academy and friends, you’re invited to take part in a heartwarming initiative to raise money for Alder Hey Charity in response to the recent Southport attacks. The Million Yard Drive will see amateurs and professionals hit golf balls to a combined total of 1,000,000 yards representing unity solidarity and the determination to make a positive impact during challenging times

We are all shocked and saddened by the events that took place in July. Southport is such a close knit community, It’s likely that many people know of someone who has been involved in the attacks. SGA has close ties with one of the families directly affected and would like to take this opportunity to raise money and awareness for the outstanding work and support Alder Hey provided to the victim and her family on the road to recovery.

On Saturday, 24th August, SGA welcomes golfers at all levels to help contribute to towards the 1,000,000 yard target. In order to participate on the day we ask for a minimum donation of 50p per ball you hit to help raise money and reach our goal of raising £5,000.

Of course, if you cannot make it, or don't see yourself as a golfer, all donations through this page will be greatly appreciated.

We hope to see you there. 🙏🏼🩷🎀
